Movie Night at Freeman Gardens
The movie night at Freeman Gardens on October 3rd was a smashing success. Guests arrived at 6:30 with blankets, chairs, and pillows. Once families arrived, they set up their supplies on any spot they chose in an open grass area. A large inflatable projector was set up so residents could enjoy the movie. Concession stands with candy, chocolate, and popcorn were organized on the edge of the field, and free water was available to all visitors. When the movie, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, started at 7:00, families enjoyed getting cozy and hanging out with friends and family. Those who weren’t interested in the movie were free to roam around the gardens, playing games and enjoying the atmosphere. The movie lasted around an hour, and when it finished, participants left with happy smiles. In conclusion, the movie night at Freeman Gardens was enjoyable for all visitors, and its annual appearance will excite more visitors to come.
Pumpkin Patch at Freeman Gardens
Cider donuts, pumpkin decorating, games, and activities could all be found at the Freeman Gardens pumpkin patch. Families and friends visited the pumpkin patch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on October 5th. Guests enjoyed kid-friendly games and activities like choosing beautiful pumpkins for their fall decorations. Participants could also decorate their very own pumpkins in fun and creative ways. As a fall treat, visitors could buy delicious apple cider donuts for $2 each. The “guess the weight of the pumpkin” activity was a fan favorite – it’s still a mystery who won! Altogether, the pumpkin patch at Freeman Gardens was a fun fall activity that all residents could participate in and enjoy.
Ashenfelter 8K Classic & The Tom Fleming 2K
Another celebration is the Glen Ridge Ashenfelter 8K and Tom Fleming 2K; the profit made towards the end of the race supports local services and charities. This run is a traditional Thanksgiving morning event and a United States Track and Field-NJ Championship Road Race open to everyone. Lace up those running shoes, and see you at 9:00 AM at Glen Ridge High School!
