Wondering what everyone’s having for Christmas dinner this year? Well, there have been debates over what is the most popular Holiday food. Of course, you have to take into consideration that not every family eats “Traditional” American food during the holidays. I know I don’t. But the two foods that I have come to understand as the most popular, are Macaroni & cheese and chicken noodle soup.
Every year, Hallmark is sure to make some new cringe-worthy winter movies. So much so that people have gotten used to it, calling it a tradition. Many families across the country enjoy making a nice cup of cocoa and watching the latest Hallmark Christmas movie. Some of the latest include Christmas at the Plaza, If I Only Had Christmas, and Time for You to Come Home for Christmas.
This winter it’s expected to be extra cold. How will people find ways to stay warm and incorporate their everyday fashion? After questioning a few people, I got similar results. “I just bought a new jacket,” says one 7th grader. “I’m planning on ordering new sweatpants,” said another. Overall, most people are updating their wardrobes to accommodate for the sudden chilly weather.
Finally, the category everyone has been waiting for: Holiday songs! First off, “All I Want for Christmas is You”, by Mariah Carey with 712 million listeners. This song has been at the top of everyone’s Christmas Playlist for years. It has reached the number one song in 25 different countries, and it won’t be losing steam any time soon.
The second most popular Holiday song is “Last Christmas“, by Wham! With 654 million listeners, this Christmas classic reached the UK’s number-one single chart 36 years after its release. This song has been covered by several artists, including Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande. Both these songs will be played countless more times this year.
Given these points, I can conclude that the holiday season will always be filled with food, music, controversy, and most importantly, family.
