At one time or another, we have all seen Snow White, the animated classic from Disney. Like many other movies in our culture today, it is being remade into a live-action musical. Rachel Zegler, who will play Snow White, exclaims her enthusiasm for this production. In addition, the story will be revised to a more modern timeline. “The original cartoon came out in 1937, and very evidently so,” she told Extra. “There’s a big focus on her love story with a guy who literally stalks her. Weird. So we didn’t do that this time.”
Zegler’s Snow White prioritizes agency and self-discovery over a dated romance. The film reimagines the princess’s journey for a modern audience, shifting the focus from finding a prince to forging her own path.
While the iconic elements of the fairytale remain, expect a Snow White who is strong, independent, and capable of writing her own happy ending. The film promises a fresh perspective on a beloved classic, sparking conversations about representation, female empowerment, and the evolution of storytelling in the 21st century.
Even though the film is currently witnessing backlash, some fans can’t wait for the show to come out in 2025.
