Excitement is in the air for the Drama Club as members prepare for the upcoming Into the Woods performances from March 27th to March 29th. Into the Woods is a Tony Award-winning musical comedy and focuses on a pop-culture-influenced fairy tale mashup of sorts. The RAS auditorium comes alive each Wednesday, Monday, and Sunday as cast members flood into practice and refine their choreography, acting, and signing, all while making memories that will last until their final days.
A request has been made by the Drama Club for more people to step out of their comfort zone and audition for future shows. In particular, the club desperately needs people who possess low voices. Only three members of the current cast are baritones or tenners, which is not enough for most shows. Director DeFazio encourages people with these qualities to reach out and visit interest meetings for the club. If you want to join the drama club or have any questions about it, email A DeFazio.
The Drama Club is also in need of donations for their sets. The quality of shows relies not just on the performers, but on their surroundings and props. The club is strapped for cash, and even a small donation of $10 can buy two foam swords for the cast. If you care about the arts and want to see current and future productions be as magical as past ones, consider supporting them through donations or showing up to enjoy the performance. Check your schedule as performances are from the 27th to the 29th of March, and they start at 7 pm with an intermission between the two acts. High turnout emboldens the cast and raises money to use in future productions. It is a great opportunity to support the community and have a fun night.
