Although everyone seems to travel during a break from school, only slightly over half of the US’s population actually does. So if you’re sitting around at home during any break from school with nothing to do, look at the list below. Here are fifteen activities to do while at home.
- Have a Picnic: Grab a blanket, basket, and a good spot, along with some snacks. Be sure to check the weather beforehand. Yum!
- Make a Movie: Get creative and write, film, and star in your very own production.
- Go to the Beach: What’s not to love about a classic day at the beach? Even if you don’t like the water, there’s lots to do on the boardwalks.
- Spring Cleaning: There’s nothing wrong with good old Spring Cleaning. You could tidy up your room, donate your old clothes, clean up the yard, really anything you’d like to clean before coming back from break.
- Start a New Book/TV show: If you like being indoors better, pick up a book and/or begin a TV show you haven’t seen before.
- Go for a Hike: Connecting with nature is one of the most relaxing things you can do. It’s good to get outside once the weather gets warm. A long hike isn’t necessary, you can also keep it short and sweet.
- Go to an Amusement Park: If you’re not a roller coaster person, that’s okay. Just find a different ride or go to the arcade.
- Go Fishing: Have a contest with your friends to see who can catch the biggest fish.
- Start a garden: Gardens come in all shapes and sizes, from vegetable patches to flower plots. No matter what kind it is, a garden is comforting to those of all ages.
- Hang out with Friends: Sometimes, less is more. A simple hangout with your best friends can be all that’s needed to keep you from boredom.
- Stargazing: You don’t have to know a lot about stars to enjoy looking at them from your backyard.
- Make a Bird Feeder: Once you hang it up, keep track of all the different birds you see eating from it.
- Bake Something: Pick a recipe for something you want to make and get cooking.
- Tie Dying: Most people tie-dye T-shirts, but you can also try socks, bandanas, shorts, hats, etc.
- Go to a Sports Game: Dress up and show your team spirit while making memories with your friends/family.
